Dining Options at Grand Hotel
Throughout the history of Grand Hotel, dining has been one of the highlights of the guest experience, and every meal is truly special, thanks to exceptional food, service and ambiance. A number of dining options are available, from the legendary Main Dining Room for breakfast, lunch, or dinner- which overlooks the Straits of Mackinac and where a coat and tie for gentlemen and dress or pantsuit for ladies is required after 6:30 p.m. - to the more casual restaurants including The Gate House located at the bottom of Grand Hill, and Cawthorne's Village Inn located in downtown Mackinac on Hoban street right off of Main St. located across from Shepler's Ferry docks - both restaurants serve lunch and dinner with children's menus. Another casual option is The Jockey Club at the Grand Stand located on the first tee of the Jewel across from the hotel, also with a children's menu, and Carleton's Tea Store serving sandwiches, soups, and coffee for lunch inside the hotel. In the interior of Mackinac Island is Woods Restaurant, open daily for dinner. Woods Restaurant is a carriage ride away and provides a unique setting with Bavarian charm. For a special treat visit Sadie's Ice Cream Parlor, open to all Mackinac Island visitors and located at the East end of the hotel. Sadie's serves 24 flavors of Hudsonville Ice Cream including shakes, sundaes, cones, and our famous Grand Pecan Ball on a stick.
