Newberry Information & Overview
The Village of Newberry is located in Luce County, McMillan Township, in the State of Michigan. Newberry was named in honor of U.S. Representative John Stoughton Newberry. The Village of Newberry is surrounded by miles of state and national forests and is considered one of two gateways to the Tahquamenon Falls area, the other being Paradise.
The Village of Newberry was designated as the moose capital of Michigan by the state legislature, in House Resolution 2002-572 and Senate Resolution 2002-259. There are more moose sightings in Luce County than any other county in the State of Michigan.
