The Manistee River
The Manistee River is a hidden gem. The river is very clean, the scenery is beautiful and the trips are the most peaceful you will ever experience. The wildlife is abundant - deer, ducks, beaver, mink, otter, turkey, and often the majestic bald eagles with their nests close by.

It’s Michigan’s perfect river for canoeing, drifting, kayaking, tubing, and camping. The Manistee River averages 2 to 4 feet deep and the current is moderate. It is fast enough to carry you with minimal paddling, but slow enough to make it perfect for even the most inexperienced.

The Manistee offers some of the best trout fishing you can find. The season is open from the last Saturday in April to the last Saturday in September. Fishing Guides are available.
