i have vacationed in the Cheboygan/Mullet Lake area all my life. I have enjoyed the wonderful experience that is The North, especially the restaurants. Big Boy was a favorite place to visit and eat. My last experience was a disaster. The manager (female), was belligerent and completely out of line in embarrassing my family. We ordered a very large meal, but were told that one of my family members would have to leave because they brought in a small remnant of food leftover from his breakfast somewhere else. Ok. Get the policy, the laws, maybe, but to act like complete jerks about it was just plain wrong. We were treated like low-life and criminals. I have been in the restaurant business and you always treat the customer with respect and courtesy even if they violate something that they clearly didn't know. YES, there was a sign on the door that I noticed later, but it was open when we came in and had no chance to see it. If I had seen the sign, not a problem. We obey the rules. But, to treat us with contempt was out of line. I, for one, will never go to Big Boy in Cheboygan again. I have a very large family that lives in and visits this area. You can bet they have all been told of my experience. Ok. I have purged my thoughts, it's just an eatery; I just hope the owner and franchise sees this and deals with this sorry management.
